Greetings from Luther Haven!
The leaves are falling, and winter is right around the corner. It is a time of transformation. Some of you may look forward to the chill in the air, first blanket of snow, and warmth of a fireplace. While others may be caught daydreaming of warmer weather and days of sunshine. Nevertheless, seasonal transformation is a gift to us all.
Here at Luther Haven, we continue to follow the guidance that is being provided to keep our residents healthy and well. At this time our doors are still open to family and visitors, but as we all know this could change at any time. We acknowledge a great concern that many senior living facilities have been faced with: how do we maintain or increase our resident’s quality of life during the time of a pandemic? The answer is not that simple, but that doesn’t mean we stop trying! Consistent things we are doing to focus on our resident’s well-being are daily visits, resident-centered activities, and spreading positive spirit.
This year we will continue the tradition of the Christmas Gift Project. We still wish to put together a personalized gift for each resident. Thank you for your past participation and we hope that with your generosity we can create a lovely gift for each resident for this holiday season.
We will begin organizing the donated gifts on Friday, December 3rd. If you can drop the gifts off to Luther Haven before December 3rd, it would be greatly appreciated. We will have a designated box in our entryway that you can place them in starting Monday, October 11th. We check the box several times a day for items delivered. If you need me to pick gifts up, just let me know. After December 3rd, we begin assigning gifts to residents and creating a very special package for each resident. If you prefer to donate money instead of actual gifts, we will accept it and use it to shop for specific items needed for individual residents. Whatever you prefer would be great! I have enclosed a poster of gift suggestions for you to post/distribute if you’d like.
We will be giving the gifts to the residents the week of Christmas. Thank you so much for your kindness and thinking of the folks here at Luther Haven this holiday season. We appreciate it! We hope to make it a very special holiday for each person here, especially in this unprecedented time. If you have any questions, please give me a call at 320-321-8321.
Many blessings to you,
Megan
